    BJ -
This bailout more than anything proves your point that congress does not represent the people. It was reported that 9/10 of people were opposed to the bailout, yet it ended up passing. What seems ridiculous is that the house voted against a 700 billion dollar bailout, yet voted for the same bill when some pork was thrown in. Come on!

    - Someone who could care less about economics until he heard about Dr. Paul

  2. Chris Says:

You cannot throw money at a problem created by just that…too much money! Too much credit which led to too much debt. It’s that simple folks. This won’t be $700 Billion, it will be several trillion when it’s all said and done. The “BAILOUT” bill…not the “Economic Stabilization Act” was unconstitutionally passed in the Senate first. Bills that raise the issues of taxes (increases) must first start in the house. When the original bill came to the house floor there were no issues dealing with the increase of taxes. Magically, they popped up in the Senate.

Vote for REAL change…vote for Lawson and give Ron Paul a friend in the House.

  3. Mike Says:

The voice of the people has been silenced by Government and the media. It’s to time for a Voter Bomb and put in a clean slate! However, as long as there are only 2 viable parties we will never have true freedom of choice. Let’s fill the Congress and White House with Ron Paul Constitutional Republicans and get back to the basics of liberty! BJ Lawson is a great step in that direction. And let’s hope there is still a Republic to save…

  4. Dr. Beeley Says:

I couldn’t agree more with the general sentiments of Dr. Lawson, Dr. Paul, and all the wonderful AWAKENED men and women who support them. I donated some money today to help elect BJ, and I pray for him to remain steadfast and undaunted in his efforts. Even if it takes another couple years for our message to get through, we will get you (and others like you) into Office. God bless.

    In Truth and Liberty,

  5. Jim Lundberg Says:

Let me get this straight. The taxpayers will loan money to the banks. But the taxpayers do not have the money. So we have to borrow it from the banks, in order to give it back to the banks. But the banks do not have the money to loan to the taxpayers. So they will have to create it out of thin air (through “fractional reserve”) and then loan it to the taxpayers, AT INTEREST, so we can then give it back to them.

    Adopted from Dennis Kucinich’s comments

  6. Tom Crowl Says:

From USA TODAY Editorial Sept 19, 2008:
“Forget for a moment sophisticated financial explanations of what went wrong and look at the campaign score card: Among the nation’s 100 top political donors since 1989 are 10 of the nation’s biggest banks and investment firms. Their employees showered lawmakers, political parties and presidential candidates with $170 million… While the money flowed, financial institutions generally got what they wanted in Washington…”

$170 Million dollars! A lot of money! And given over almost two decades… Citizens can’t possibly compete with that!

    REALLY? WAKE UP AND THINK!!!!

  7. Gail Marold Says:

This sums it up even better…:)

If you had purchased $1,000 of Lehman Bros. stock one year ago, you would have $49 left.

With Wachovia, you would have $16.50 left.

With AIG, you would have less than $5 left.

But if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the
beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily
    and recycle.

    It’s called the 401-Keg plan.

  8. Joseph Guzman Says:

This about sums it up BJ.

  9. Michael Ivey Says:

I made my donation today and BJ is not even in my district. But even I know that the ruthless and pure incompetent reps we now have in Washington need to be replaced. If i had my way, we would fire about 530 of them and replace them all with men of substance and character just like Dr Paul and BJ. Keep it going, I know you will get there.

  10. Kathy Says:

Thanks to David Price and fellow sell-outs in the House. He clearly did not even blink as he helped pass this bailout package at Nancy Pelosi’s beckoning. Every rep who voted for this useless, wasteful, devastating bill needs to be tossed out onto the street and have their Congressional retirement monies diverted to help pay for it.

  11. Alan R. Weiss Says:

Dr. Lawson and Dr. Paul have correctly diagnosed the diseases affecting this country, and this people. Yes, I say “us the people”, for “we” have elected these (95%) lawyers who have very little economics education and very little real world business experience to promise “us” all sorts of goodies. When a democracy realizes it can simply vote the largesse of their neighbors for themselves (couched, of course, in “its good for all of us” rhetoric), that is the death of the democracy. When you rob Peter to pay Paul while screwing Mary, you kid yourself and you rob your children, and their children.

Oh, that’s right. ALL of the people who are supporting Dr. Lawson, and Dr. Paul, and the Campaign for Liberty, and all liberty-minded people already realize the truth of what I’ve just written. Please please give a little to Dr. Lawson so he can join Ron Paul and others in liberating our country from these parasites! Alan R. Weiss, Austin, Texas USA

  12. Bolo Tie Bill Says:

Dr. Lawson, I donated today to your campaign. I am still extremely angry at Congress for this insane bailout. I found your campaign through Ron Paul’s website and couldn’t wait until today so I could participtate in the money bomb.

Here’s hoping that this Depression will be short-lived because the next President took advice from you and Ron Paul instead of their current socialist advisors.

  13. lm Says:

    I agree w/ Kathy!
And don’t forget the Senators! We should re-elect no-one! Write in some one-
if there is no-one you like - my mom’s fav. is mickey mouse.

  14. Peter B Says:

Seriously, how do you think these people would vote if it was about *their* money?

Michael Ivey, you don’t have to flush that many of them. Visit Ron Paul’s site to see who still voted No in the House. My Rep (Jeb Hensarling) was one who stood firm. I wish I could say the same about our Texas Senators, but I’m afraid Ms. Hutchison and Mr. Cornyn will not have my vote next term. Now to find an alternative that isn’t nauseating…

Go BJ Lawson! I wish I could help with more than that measly ten bucks.

  15. Nathan Carothers Says:

The bailout proves that Congress doesn’t listen to their constituents, I agree. But why don’t they listen to their constituents?

The fact that they no longer listen to the voters, proves that our votes no longer count. With all these electronic voting machines everywhere, the Congressmen are more likely to listen to what the President of Diebold wants than to their own constituents. That’s because the voting machines are actually voting fraud machines. Face it, this is proof your vote and my vote no longer matter at all to the politicians, because our votes aren’t counted.

If one vote isn’t counted, everyone’s vote isn’t counted.

  16. Catherine Says:

I am deeply against everything going on that is hurting the honest people in our society. If this bill is indeed unconstitutional, then challenging it to take it to the Supreme Court could get it thrown out.

    Mr. Lawson / Dr. Paul,

Why do you not take the necessary steps to challenge this bill in this way? If you have 9/10’s of the peoples support and are against it as well, this would your chance to make a change!

  17. B.J. Says:

THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE SAYS “WE, THE PEOPLE!!!”…not we, the government; not we, president and vice president; not we, the congress; not we, the bankers; not we, the reptiles; not we, the aliens!!!!!!!!!!! IT CLEARLY SAYS…”WE, THE PEOPLE!!!!”

I believe in the American People…we are loving, gentle, generous, kind, forgiving…but when pushed beyond the brink, we have a fighting spirit, a spirit that was left here be our ancestors, our grandparents, our parents, ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!

LIBERTY will not perish from this EARTH…because WE, THE PEOPLE, WILL NOT LET IT!!!!

I believe that we need to get out on the MALL in WASHINGTON and get the press there from all of the OTHER NEWS MEDIA…but don’t invite the three major networks, nor FOX….they are all traitors…we need to march into WASHINGTON and say… “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” Then we need to call them what they are…TRAITORS TO OUR BEAUTIFUL NATION!!!! WE…THE PEOPLE…MUST DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!! LET THEM SEE OUR TRUE AMERICAN SPIRIT!!!! They are counting on one thing, and that is that we do not care enough as a people to take action!!!! They think that they have lulled us to sleep by poisoning our food and drinks…THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE AWAKE NOW!!!!!!!!!! AND WE ARE MAD AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!! I WILL BE IN FRONT OF THE CROWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Debbie Says:

This was a great overview of what happened B.J. - I can’t wait for you to be in Congress alongside Dr. Paul!

  19. Jeff Jones Says:

It was not a BAILOUT it was a ROBBERY!

  20. Terry Kinder Says:

The bailout vote was bad enough by itself, but the picture gets even worse when you consider all of the anti-liberty votes in Congress. You can see a list of them here…

  21. Andrew Curtis Says:

Our founding fathers tried with all their might to put checks and balances in place to avoid corruption and government domination. I am wondering if they have a secret written somewhere for the American people to call for a white wash (cleaning) of the ENTIRE house or representatives (save it be Ron Paul)!!! I mean, look at the state of the US now and the time it will take to elect people like you and Ron Paul to occupy the right seats to start fixing things. THEN, we have to worry about corruption AFTER elected. I mean, the government has us so busy we don’t have enough time to elect someone on certain promised principles and then keep an eye on them to see if the keep to those promises. You and Ron Paul are our inspiration but I fear America has been handed to a group of evil men by a corrupt house of so-called representatives.

  22. Andrew Curtis Says:

One last thing I forgot to add…. When a so-called representative strays from what they promised the people, THE VERY PEOPLE THAT ELECTED THEM. There is no processes in place to have them heisted from their position IMMEDIATELY for lying!! Thus, there really is no way to hold them accountable except at the next election. This is why I believe that the United States is in it’s sad state of affairs. God help us. I know you are one of His instruments but I think we are going to need a little more intervention from the heavens. =)

  23. John C. Randolph Says:

    B.J.,

The phrase “We the people…” is the beginning of the Constitution, not the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration starts with “When in the course of human events…”
