David Price now calling Ron Paul & BJ Lawson Dangerous George Bush Followers.
By: Martin Avila
You know it’s getting close when a 20 year incumbent needs to attack his opponent, and his political ideology, head on. Anyone who’s in office for that long should be able to stand on the merits of his own record rather than launching attacks. Here is an excerpt from a letter that he recently sent out to his supporters.
…Proclaiming to be the protégé of failed Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, Dr. Lawson has a laissez faire, libertarian approach to government and the economy that I believe is fundamentally wrong. Our current financial crisis clearly demonstrates that the hands-off, anything-goes mentality on regulation employed by the Bush Administration and supported by Dr. Lawson simply does not work and is, very frankly, dangerous to our economy and way of life.
David Price has been playing politics here in the 4th district for the last month - constantly trying to tie Dr. Lawson to the Bush Administration in any way that he can. All of this started happening when we launched our TV and Radio Ads thanks to your support.
But this time he has gone too far.
To attack our political philosophy like this, and constantly show a clear disregard of limited government principles that our nation was founded upon says something to me. It should say something to you too.
We need to get this man out of our government.
David Price is stepping up his campaign in a big way, and we need your help to continue the fight.
Please make a donation today to support our efforts - we have 2 new TV ads and a massive mailer ready to go with your help.
Mr. Price, you just called out the Revolution.

We need BJ Lawson, and a whole lot more like him who support liberty, non-interventionism, and sound money to run for Congress. Thanks so much for fighting for liberty and inspiring others to do the same.

Martin,
When I saw the title of this post, I almost laughed. BJ Lawson and Ron Paul are so far from a “Bush” political ideology that it is almost comical that someone would attempt to tie the two together. What is dangerous to our economy and way of life is the extreme government intervention that has been going on for far too long. That is what has been the root of our problems, and that is what needs to change. BJ can bring this change. Thank you for all your hard work over at the campaign. I’m sure you will be working overdrive for the cause of liberty the last week and a half.

George Bush was as “liberal” / “progressive” as LBJ.

What kind of ignorant person would compare Ron Paul and BJ Lawson to George W. Bush? Has David Price been living in a cave for the past 30 years?

I am at work and this headline just made me laugh way too loud…. How does an elected official make a statement that far from reality? Was he awake during the debate? Does Mr. Price know what Ron Paul is about? Does he read the bills???(thought it fit too :)) If he believes the free market caused this, then he needs a lesson in what the Government is doing to the economy. You can’t fix a debt problem with more cheap credit. Lowering lending rates creates bad investments, and when the FREE MARKET tries to correct itself, the bad debt must be liquidated(not propped up with tax money)
Bailouts: Bush-yes, Price-yes, Paul-NO, Lawson-given the chance, NO. Gov. buying preferred shares of banks(against some of their wishes) Bush in favor, Paul-No way.
I could keep going on the differences between Paul and Bush, but there is no need to make a further argument against a truly stupid statement.
Go get em Dr Lawson, there a few of us in Georgia pulling for you!!

David Price says in that PDF file “I will gladly defend my record as a champion of civil liberties to anyone.”
That sure gave me a good laugh…he did vote for the anti-civil liberties Patriot Act

hahaha, the R3VOLUTION is spreading!

That tax-sucking parasite is running scared. Politicians go negative when they’re desperate, and Price knows that he doesn’t have a leg to stand on after voting for the war, the bailout, and the patriot act.

It’s this kind of behavior among politicians that exposes their belief that they think the American people lack the intelligence and ability to see past this kind of propaganda. It’s obvious that he thinks this because Ron Paul and Bj Lawson’s beliefs are not even close to Bush’s beliefs. I personally have faith in the American people and so does Bj Lawson! I’m a Democrat and I will be donating more money to Lawson’s campaign because of this statement made by Price!

BJ,
Keep up the GREAT work. The message is pure, the time is right.
If you can unseat a 20 year incumbent, the rest of the country will see EXACTLY how powerful this message is. If that happens, you will see people throughout the halls of government embrace this message of freedom and prosperity in the next election cycle two years from now.
In the meantime, keep up the good fight! You’re going to win.

Price is no fool. He knows that Bush is unpopular. He knows that most folks will just believe him when he says that Lawson is similar to Bush.
It’s absurd that he refers to Bush as being in favor of less regulation. Huh? Less regulation? Sarbanes-Oxley? And Bush in favor of an “ownership society”? Huh? The federal government under Bush is purchasing banks.

Price’s letter to “supporters” is interesting. I guess he didn’t see fit to send this to all constituents, which once again proves that he believes he serves a small segment of the 4th district and apparently did not even try to appeal to me for my vote. Well, nothing new here. He rarely responds to constituents and has made it clear he’d rather not hear from them at all if they don’t agree completely with his personal agenda.
I’ve voted mostly for Democrats, and have previously voted for Price, but no more.
Any supposed “representative” of the people who considers a constitutional agenda REGRESSIVE has lost my vote. Our Constitution is about the most PROGRESSIVE and freeing foundational document ever crafted. And its craftors knew well that those like Price who want to make government control every aspect of our lives, what we say and what we think, WILL ultimately become the enemy, not the protector, of the people. Quite frankly, Price’s mindset is scary. No thanks, I’m not yet ready to hand over my liberties to Price and his agenda.

This campaign is such an inspiration to follow. Price is so clueless. Let’s hope enough people in the district can see through Price’s ridiculous record and rhetoric.

How amazing that David “Bailout” Price would accuse you of being a Bush Republican.
Even more amazing that his repeated violations of the Constitution is called, “Progress.”
I just put in another 25 bucks. Keep fighting.

BJ, just donated again as well as we Texan Ron Paul liberty lovers are going to try our hardest to make sure Dr. Paul has someone younger to pass the torch to in Congress. I appreciate your open minded, rational, effective campaign material.
Continued Success.

[...] BJ Lawson’s opponent David Price, a Big Government Democrat who voted for the PATRIOT Act, the HR 1955 “Thought Crimes Bill”, and the disastrous Bailout Bill, has grown quite uneasy. He is now running desperate attack ads and resorted to smearing BJ Lawson and Ron Paul as dangerous George Bush followers. [...]
